A Poem: There was a Dear Friend in Ohio

There was a dear friend in Ohio

Who loved cats as they made her smile

She was happiest when in her lap they sat

Peacefully purring while their fur she pet

Then one cold winter night

She found a wet, lonely dog in the road

Not a person to claim him

So into the car she coaxed

Now her small house is filled

With cats and dogs alike

Each enjoying their wonderful lives

With the lady who has love to share
