An Author’s Bravery

Having been experienced Spanish oppression
A boy named Jose was once a dreamer,
Dreamed of being freed from colonization
An advocate of peace, yet a fighter.
Secretly studied the government of a nation
To awaken the stagnant minds of Filipinos,
Wrote several poems, novels and observations
Even if it means sacrificing heartfelt desires.
Spend too much of his time on thinking ways
On how to stop invaders from bringing grief.
However, turned blue upon knowing his last days
But still pursued to stand his belief,
Finally, on the moment of merciless execution
He died with honor and pride as an inspiration.
