Churchill Leaves Office

At the end of World War II, Great Britain was sick of war. Most of the world was sick of it. The British Parliament essentially voted Winston Churchill out of office. Churchill, of course, was one of history’s greatest leaders. Still, when people are sick of war, they’re sick of war. “Enough already” seemed to be the sentiment of the day. So Churchill left office before World War II was finished. It must of been something of a shock. Even though you win a war, people can vote you out of office.

Churchill would later return to the Office of Prime Minister after the war.
