Family Fun at a Corn Maze and Country Market in Central Florida

.

If you find yourself in the Central Florida area with a couple extra hours in your itinerary for something a little different, fun for the whole family, and inexpensive, I suggest a visit to Long & Scott Farms Corn Maze Adventures in Mt. Dora, less than an hour’s drive from the Orlando/Kissimmee attractions. Aside from the 7-acre corn maze, this place is packed with other fun, easy-to-enjoy activities as well, including a 3-acre ligustrum tree maze, ½-acre junior corn maze, a labrynth rock maze, a mist maze, kids’ zip line course, giant sandbox and playground, 60′ super slide, hayrides, fishing, and more. This ah-mazing adventure park is seasonal, however, opening only from September to December, and the public is welcome every day of the week except Mondays. Tuesday through Friday admission is by reservation only, and groups of 20+ on the weekends must make reservations as well. Tickets start at just $9 (ages 3-16) and $11 (age 17+) and can max out at $16 (youth and adult), depending on extra activities purchased. Wheelchairs/scooters are welcome, but be aware that they can easily get stuck in the dirt in the mazes. As with all outdoor attractions, the weather can be a factor in planning your visit; there are no refunds if you get rained out, but rain checks will be issued accordingly.

The corn maze and other adventures are part of a working farm which produces much more than corn, including red and green cabbage, cucumbers, onions, peppers, okra, eggplant, squash, tomatoes, potatoes, herbs, broccoli, and lettuces. Produce is available at the Garden Shop on the property, and the adjacent Country Market stocks jellies, pickles, cheeses, t-shirts, memorabilia, and more. The garden shop and market are open year-round, although closed on Sundays and Mondays, so even if you miss the fall maze fun-in-the-sun, you can still grab some fresh, local produce and other goodies there. Established in 1963, the farm and all activities are still family owned and operated, and their fun activities, healthy produce, and down-home warmth make the experience well-worth the visit.

The farm/maze is located at 26216 SR 448A, Mt. Dora, FL 32757. For reservations and/or questions, please call 352-383-6900.
