Jason Aldean the New Kid in Town

What makes an album worthy of being called “the best album of 2011?” Could it be how many albums are sold, or how many singles are produced? Maybe its how many tickets are sold for a supporting tour? Nowadays one may even look at you tube video plays, or gross in Facebook likes to help with determining factors. All media outlets aside my pick for best album of 2011 will be handed to Jason Aldean.

Released on November 2, 2010 Jason Aldean’s “My Kind Of Party” has now produced four singles including three consecutive No.1 hits. It has reached Double Platinum diplomacy, and CMT news released that hit single “Don’t You Wanna Stay” featuring Kelly Clarkson has reached platinum status in digital downloads, and the well known “Dirt Road Anthem” has hit double platinum in single downloads.

Jason Aldean has been nominated for five CMA awards this year following his multi platinum album, and his record breaking tour which in some cases has sold out over four months in advance! His nominations include male vocalist of the year, album of the year, single of the year, musical act of the year, and last but not least entertainer of the year which also includes artists such as Taylor Swift, Blake Shelton, Keith Urban, and Brad Paisley (last year’s winner.)

Jason Aldean’s “My Kind Of Party” includes a good array of different sounds. It has attracted audiences that who may not be strictly country fans to it. Songs like dirt road anthem has been controversial in the country world due to its rap style verses. The well known ludicrous has even been known to perform the song with Jason Aldean. Still Jason Aldean is able to bring that song home with a classic country chorus for everyone to sing along to. Every song on the album has a feel good vibe to it. My person favorite “Church Pew or Bar Stool” is a good example of the well thought-out songwriting that is displayed through the album.

Regardless of how the CMA’s turn out this year Jason Aldean has been able to show Exponential growth that no CMA show could deny. Will he be able to take home album of the year for 2011? I know I will be tuning in November 9th to find out.
