Jays Hang on to Win 4-3 Over Kansas City at Home

The Crowd at the Rogers Center tonight witness a pitcher’s Duel as the Toronto Blue Jays hosted the Kasas City Royals.
The Royals opened the scoring early in the first inning when Billy Butler drove in Alex Gordon from second base with a two out double.
Butler drove Gordon in again in the third inning, giving Kansas City a 2-0 lead.
The Royals threatened again in the fourth inning with two on base, but were unable to score.
At the bottom of the fourth, Jays slugger, Jose Bautista, hit a two run homer, driving in Yunel Escobar, who hit by a wild pitch earlier in the inning. Later in the inning, rookie, Brett Lawrie gave Toronto the lead by driving in Edwin Encarnacion with a RBI triple.
The lead did not last long, though, as Gordon came up in the top of the fifth inning and hit a lead-off homerun.
There was no scoring until the seventh when Lawrie led off the inning with a solo homerun to give the Jays a one run lead.
Despite giving up a walk to Melky Cabrera, Frank Francisco ended the game at the top of the nineth inning by retiring the next three batters.
