My daughter looks at autumn
She doesn’t see leaves to rake
But piles to build
She doesn’t see candy to buy
But costumes to wear
She doesn’t see holidays looming
But fun to come
My daughter looks at autumn
She doesn’t think of clouds and rain
But puddles to jump in
She doesn’t think of death and dying
But life to live
She doesn’t feel the loss of summer
But the promise of winter
