An inexpensive and creative decoration for a reception table is a bouquet of napkin flowers. Make a unique one-of-a-kind centerpiece with napkins that boast the colors of the wedding. Napkin flowers add a sense of softness to every table.
Things You’ll Need:
4 napkins per flower
Pipe cleaners
Vase
Optional – Scissors
Instructions:
Step 1 – Unfold each napkin. Cut along one fold line to create two long rectangles.
Step 2 – Place eight rectangles on top of one another making sure to match the edges.
Step 3 – Turn the napkins so a short edge is along the bottom. Fold the bottom edge up approximately 1-inch.
Step 4 – Flip the napkin over. Fold the bottom edge up 1-inch.
Step 5 – Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until the entire napkin is folded.
Step 6 – Hold the fan-folded napkin by the center. Wrap the end of a pipe cleaner around the center. Twist the end of the pipe cleaner around itself to hold the center of the flower securely together.
Step 5 – Pull the fan-folded napkins apart on each side of the pipe cleaner. Carefully pull the layers apart to create a fluffy napkin flower.
Create a centerpiece of each reception table by placing a minimum of five flowers in each vase. Add decorative stones to the vase if it is clear. This will help to hide the bottom of the pipe cleaners.
Change the shape of the edges of the flowers prior to folding the napkin flower. Complete the folding process then round the two ends or cut them into a point. When the napkin is separated, the cut edges will create the appearance of different types of flowers.
