Benjamin Netanyahu’s speech to congress was a glorious display of total disregard for the rights of the Palestinian people. This man is an arrogant dictator that the world has not seen the likes of since Adolf Hitler. If you Notice, Netanyahu doesn’t have the Russian accent that is prevalent amongst the majority of Israelis, that’s because he lived a majority of his childhood in the United States. Even though his speech was full of lies and utter fabrications, I got to admit, he is a very good speech maker. Well let us delve into the speech.
Netanyahu began his speech by stating “I do see a lot of old friends here and I see a lot of new friends of Israel here as well. Republicans and Democrats alike.” and continued by saying “Israel has no better friend than America, and America has no better friend than Israel”. What He means is Israel has no other friend but America. Neither Netanyahu, or any other Israeli politician can go anywhere in Europe, Including England, for fear of being arrested for war crimes. As far as the second part goes, Israel is not Americas best friend, We were attacked on 911 because of our support of Israel. We are fighting terrorists because of Israel. Billions of dollars of taxpayers’ money is sent to Israel every year in the form of weapons, ammunition and cash To Israel to help them oppress the Palestinian people.
He then tells us that ” Israel has Always been pro-American, and Israel will always be pro-American”. That statement alludes to the fact that the existence of Israel began while America has been around. So for Anyone who thinks the Modern state of Israel is the same Israel from the Bible, It is Just not so.
This is where the speech states to descend into Lies and hypocrisy. Bibi claims Israel is democratic. “You don’t Need to import democracy to Israel, we already got it.” Then in almost in perfect timing, Rea Abileah, Jewish-American protester and member of Code pink shouts “Stop Israeli war crimes! Equal rights for Palestinians!” She is booed, apparently Congress does not believe that Palestinians should have equal rights. The Netanyahu says ” I take it as a badge of honor, and so should you, that in our free societies, you can have these protests This is real democracy!”. Now mind you, that as he is saying this, the protester is being tackled to the ground, and then is dragged out by security. Rae Abileah was taken to the hospital, where she is treated for neck and shoulder injuries. After her treatment she was arrested for disorderly conduct. How dare he claim that Israel is a democracy! They have Killed their own citizens for protesting the Occupation of Palestine. Let us also not forget Rachel Corrie. Rachel Corrie was an American college student, who was in Gaza protesting the demolition of Palestinian homes. She was purposely run over by an Israeli Bulldozer. As Always, Israel Investigated itself. Not surprisingly, they cleared themselves of all wrong doing.
He then begins to discuss the only peace plan that Israel will accept. “I am willing to make Painful compromises”. Whatever that means. He doesn’t seem to be willing to make any compromises. he goes on to say ” In any real Peace agreement, in any peace agreement that ends the conflict, some settlements will end up beyond the Borders Of Israel.” How can there be a two state deal, if Palestinians are the only ones who have to honor the borders. He then states “Israel will not return to the indefensible borders of 1967. Israel on the 1967 Borders would be only nine miles wide.” I guess he is assuming that his audience has never seen the map of the 1967 borders. Under these borders Israel still has a majority of the land, It Seems like the only ones having to make painful sacrifices, are the Palestinians. So, basically Bibi’s plan for peace is for everything to stay the same
