New Years Resolutions for Any Financial Situation

With the economy in the shape it’s in and job searching becoming a living nightmare, it’s easy to decide that New Years Resolutions are simply too expensive to pay any heed to. But what I’m here to tell you is that there are cheap and free things to do this coming year that will put meaning and entertainment back into your life.

Take up some Origami:

Even if you don’t have access to the internet or funds to purchase books, it’s fairly easy to obtain paper from public places (like newspaper) and fold it into new creations. The library is a great location for freely looking up books and discovering new and exciting folds to fold. My challenge for you is to create one piece of origami for every genre of animal in the world. (i.e horse, bird, pig, snake, etc…)

Give some blood:

There’s a constant need for people to give blood because of things like cancer, disease, and injury. My challenge to you is to give whole blood every single time you can all throughout the year, without failure. (I believe you can give blood a total of six times.)

Huuuug:

Are you a friendly person? Well, with this resolution you’ll at least seem to be! This challenge is to hug someone, anyone, every single day throughout the entire year without skipping even one day.

Learn to Juggle eight objects:

Though this is a strange and somewhat foreign hobby, it’s actually a lot of fun! This hobby is great for hand-eye coordination and it’s a great, inexpensive way to spend your time enjoying yourself. (Plus, who knows, maybe you could earn some money juggling for tips!)

Write a fictional story every week involving something completely random:

My final challenge to you is to write fictional papers all throughout the year that are entirely based on something that couldn’t be possible in real life. I.e. Mustaches that fight back, alphabet letters that single-handedly save the world, etc… (See my Cup Opera http://voices.yahoo.com/the-cup-opera-10576271.html?cat=44 )
