On one hand Newt Gingrich says “I don’t see how the — the party that says it’s the party of the family is going to adopt an immigration policy which destroys families that have been here a quarter century,” Gingrich said. “And I’m prepared to take the heat for saying, let’s be humane in enforcing the law without giving them citizenship but by finding a way to create legality so that they are not separated from their families.” while on the other hand Newt Gingrich says “I am not for amnesty for anyone. I am not for a path to citizenship for anybody who got here illegally,” While claiming he is not for amnesty Newt is on record stating that for illegal immigrants who have been here for a quarter of a century need not be given citizenship but must be allowed to stay. Paraphrasing of course, but isn’t that what he said? By allowing illegal immigrants to stay in America regardless if they are given citizenship or not, is that not amnesty? It is according to my understanding of what amnesty is. Therefore, while Newt Gingrich claims he’s not for amnesty I have to take him at his word and believe that he is for amnesty.
Using Newt’s argument to give amnesty to illegal immigrants I can defend not taking stolen money from thieves. I mean after all, you don’t want to starve the family. For that matter why even have a penal code? By imprisoning criminals is that not separating the criminals from their families? Shame on us! Amnesty for all! People can say I am comparing apples to oranges, but the truth is I’m not. An illegal immigrant regardless of how long they have been here are still criminals because they are breaking the law, the immigration law. While Newt Gingrich doesn’t want to give amnesty to illegal immigrants who have been here for less than 25 years, he wants to give amnesty to the illegal immigrants who have been here for 25+ years. So watch out you illegal immigrants who have only been her for 24 years, 364 days, 23 hours 59 minutes and 59 seconds because if Newt has his way you won’t make the cut to get amnesty.
I don’t care if an illegal immigrant has been here for an entire century, an Illegal immigrant is an illegal immigrant regardless of how long they have been here. They need to be deported back to where they come from and return through the legal process. No amnesty for no illegal immigrant. Period!
Newt Gingrich is a professional politician using double talk strategy to gain support. As a Tea Party participant I’m opposing the established politicians because I am tired of politics as usual in Washington. It’s time for true change that is beneficial to America.
