No you can NOT get genital herpes from sharing needles. Herpes is NOT in the blood stream (a lot of people seem to think it is). Genital herpes is usually ONLY spread by having sex with that person and direct skin to skin contact with the genital area. There are other ways, like childbirth, but this is really rare. If herpes was in the bloodstream I REALLY doubt the American Red Cross would allow people with herpes to donate blood (which they do allow them too).
