Do you know anyone with tourettes syndrome?

I also knew a person with Tourette’s. The only difference is that Carl was mentally retarded. I don’t remember the swearing because I was little at the time. One thing I do remember was that he was FAST! He was one of the fastest runners I believe I have ever seen with my own two eyes. Carl competed in Special Olympics and had several medals. Miss you Carl!

I used to. It did not affects his life very much. He really only had the impulse to swear when he was nervous, which I think is the case with most people who have the syndrome. But when he was young, his parents taught him to automatically and quietly replace swear words with a nonsense word. It’s a little weird the first time you hear it, but I don’t think it affected his life that much.
