Why can’t animals get heart attacks, but people do?

How many animals do you see in the McDonald’s drive thru? Well, it is a fact that dogs and cats can get heart disease. They can even suffer abnormal heart arrhythmias. Dogs can get heart worms, which in turn can cause congestive heart failure, arrhythmias, and other cardiac complications. So, contrary to your question, I believe they can get problems that are very similar to heart attacks. Animals can get health problems like we get. Epilepsy, cancer, blood disorders, liver failure, brain tumors, etc. Just ask any vet.

i don’t know. but there are a buncha books about it. i went to amazon.com and found a ton! They do..horses, dogs, cats, and about any critter that lives into what we call old age will ave a vascular event leading to death (stroke or heart attack.). In the real world, things generally don’t live that long. A lion in captivity will live to be 15 with ease. In Africa, lucky to make it to 7 if a male and 9 if a female.

animals can have heart attacks too, its a major cause of death for most animals that live long lives (like gorrillas and stuff). dogs and cats and stuff only live for 10 years or so and they dont have time and they also dont have all the cholesterol and crap in their diets to clog their arteries up so it just doesnt happen as often. if they do its usually because of a birth defect. They don’t have bills to pay
