A Monster in the House

Myopically mesmerized I watched its fit

This multi-legged monster ensconced in my tub
Confident by vantage of not being bit

Vile violin hued insectile legs did flit
Scudding, scurrying up the porcelain hub
Myopically mesmerized I watched its fit

Emboldened by distance between I and it
With hubris leaned closer to watch the hubbub
Confident by vantage of not being bit

Infinitely insane eyes, there was no quit
Just death or release from this cruel Sawish club
Myopically mesmerized I watched its fit

Pugnaciously insane, it cleared the white pit
Fearlessly toward me and aye, here’s the rub
Confident by vantage of not being bit

A Kafkaesque lesson learned ’bout one’s own grit
Fight without fear to escape your poisoned tub
Myopically mesmerized I watched its fit
Confident by vantage of not being bit
