Amazing Holiday Displays in San Antonio

For more than 10 years The Lasell Holiday Spectacular has amazed children and adults all over the United States from Hawaii to Texas to Alabama. The light show features almost 100 channels of computerized lighting, synchronized to music. The music selection includes holiday classics like Frosty the Snowman and O’ Tannenbaum as well as modern holiday music by the Transiberian Orchestra.

The display runs every night during the Christmas Season starting the Sunday after Thanksgiving Day with an awesome Treat Lighting Ceremony at 6:00 pm. Santa takes time out of his busy schedule to help spread some Christmas magic to get the show started each year. The show continues to run every night from 6:00-10:00 pm on the Weekdays and 6:00-11:00 pm on the Weekends and is simulcast on 107.7 FM. Santa promises to visit the show every Friday and Saturday night, but he can only stay for an hour (7:00-8:00) then it is back to the North Pole.

The Lasell Holiday Spectacular has been featured on multiple news broadcasting stations including WHNT in Huntsville, Alabama. The display is also featured on the Tacky Light Tour (www.tackylight tour.com). The Tacky Light Tour features the most ostentacious over-the-top Christmas light shows in the United States. The Lasell Holiday Spectacular has also been feature in the Planetchristmas.com annual World-wide Christmas Display contest.

The display benefits the American Foundation for AIDS Research (AMFAR). Any donations received are submitted to AMFAR to help find a cure for AIDS. You can also donate to AMFAR at www.AMFAR.org

Jon and Stephanie say they start in July getting the lights ready for the display, but the planning and “sequencing” starts December 26th for the next year. The Lasell Holiday Spectacular uses Light-o-rama(R) controllers and software to create this one of a kind show.
