Appreciating the Smaller Things

We can bring health and happiness to ourselves by learning to appreciate the small and simple things in life. It is often difficult to recognize all the things we have in our ever so busy lives, but it is important to balance your life to recognize the things that bring us peace and happiness. Each person is different and you are the only one that can determine what makes you happy. Learn to appreciate the world around you.

Mother Nature is always there with her opinion on what brings happiness. Do you ever pay attention to how your grass grows with such ease? Or how a bird soars through the air with seemingly little effort? This all may seem easy but the birds must learn and became aware of their abilities and natural instincts. They need to be able to sense what is going on. Like the birds, we also need to engage our senses and learn to soar over our problems.

Have you ever stopped to listen to everything that is going on around you? Most people do not take the time to sit quietly and think about life or where it is taking them. It is important to be aware of our surroundings and what is going on. Not only hear what is going on around you but also experience your surrounding with all your senses. What do you smell? What can you see? What are you feeling? Learn to use your senses and a new world will open up to you.

If you want to become happy, energetic and vibrant again, schedule time every day to focus on the simple things of life. If you are having, a bad day and feel like you cannot keep going, just stop, engage your senses, and focus on what is going on around you. Listen to the birds; appreciate the sunlight or the rain that is falling from the sky. By doing so you will find that your worries, concerns and frustrations will slowly start to dissipate into the air.

As you look at the eagle flying high, remember that you too can fly as high as you want. You have the power to feel better than your current feelings may be. Just use your senses and learn to appreciate all the small things. If you show gratitude and appreciate everything around you that you will find new meaning in the world and know that a better life awaits you.
