Women across the country should be outraged at the latest attack on women from members of the media. When US Rep. Bachmann smiled and seemed to enjoy her time with Fallon, totally unaware she had been set up by The Roots Band Leader and drummer, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson, and possibly Fallon and NBC. Thompson who according to Chris Richards in an article appearing in the Washington Post on Dec.29, 2009, wrote “has reinvented the art of the walk on music, personalizing songs with a wink, a jab or a nod of respect”.
Thompson’s music selection for Bachmann was anything but respectful, and more of blind-sided knockout punch. Thompson makes no bones about his support for President Obama, posting a picture with the President on his Facebook page.
Just before Bachmann’s,’ Live with Jimmy Fallon Show’s’, appearance Thompson tweeted a tease on her walk on music selection,” aight late night walk on song devotees: you love it when we snark: this next one takes the cake. Ask around cause: ain’t tweeting the title”.
Appearing on Fox News after discovering the following day the disrespect she had been shown by the band leader, Fallon and NBC Bachmann said, “This is clearly a form of bias on the part of the Hollywood entertainment elite”. She continued, “This wouldn’t be tolerated if this was Michelle Obama. It shouldn’t be tolerated if it’s a conservative woman either”.
Really??? Enough! We should be able to disagree with a woman’s political agenda without attacking her sexually. The B, C and W words used to describe women must stop. When men disagree politically the size of their penis is not the brunt of jokes. Enough. Women on both sides of the political fence and those without any political agenda need to take a stand and say Enough!
