The Lights Part II

What I saw has no explanation, I don’t know what to make of it. Perhaps it was a space ship. Nah, maybe I was just hallucinating, or then again, this might be a secret experiment from the Air Force, maybe the Navy. I was there standing with my eyes wide open, just staring at it.

It was big, but not so big to be notice from far away, but big enough to cause some damage. I wanted to see it better, to make sure that it was a space ship, you know a UFO. So I continue to push more branches, it was nearly impossible to make my way through the bushes, there were too many branches and it was too bright, it was so bright that I could barely see my hand right in front of my eyes; I was walking on faith.

It did not matter; I made my way through it and got as closed as I could under the circumstances. When I got near it, to no surprise, it was what I thought all along: a spaceship. It was shaped like a rocket- no color, just stainless steel color, with lights on top and on the bottom reflecting on the stainless steel which made it brighter than it actually was, creating and aura that could blind you if you kept looking at it.

Suddenly a door opened and a creature began to walk out of the apparatus. Of course, I tried to run away, but my legs weren’t moving. In my mind, I was running, but my body just stood there; it was all in slow motion. Then the creature came near me. I don’t know if it was for me notice it or it to get a look at me, but when it came near, everything changed. It was not an “It,” he was a man, sort of. He, or she, had all the similarities of a human except for the mouth. It had no mouth; the face was lacking facial hair and ears. I stood there, sort of immobilized, thinking about moving, but was unable to. Then, suddenly, the creature was right in front of my face, and the eyes got wider and bigger, sort of, looking into my soul.

I tried to scream, to say something, to yell for help, but nothing was coming out of my mouth. My mouth was wide open but no noise was coming out of it. Then the creature raised what looked like an arm and hand without fingers and placed it on my face. It was cold as ice and it forced me to close my eyes.

James Roland was found on the side of the road, on Route 66. He was pale, cold, and confused. He had not eaten anything in days, his clothes were wet, and his shoes were covered in mud. He was taken to the emergency room due to extreme dehydration, malnutrition, and a high fever.

He slept for two days. When he woke up, he ate like a horse. He did not, however, speak a word for about a week, and was highly paranoid and nervous all the time.

When he seemed to be more relaxed, the police and hospital personnel tried to ascertain who he was, but he did not have any identification on him. There was no record of fingerprints; nothing. It was like this man was just born, or that he had not existed at all.

When the detectives finally got the chance to interview him, he said, “My name is Roland. James Roland. And on my way back from a date, I was not thinking straight. I was in a daze, just reminiscing the great moments I spent with my new love interest. We had been talking for a while, and finally agreed on a date. We went out for dinner at a nice restaurant, a movie (chic-flick, being the first date and all), and to finish the night, we went for a walk. I dropped her off at the front of her house and left. So, I just kept visualizing how beautiful she looked, when, out of nowhere, this bright light shined on my car, which freaked me out and I almost lost control of the vehicle. I maneuvered the best I could to avoid crashing with the trees on the side of the road.”

Mr. Roland has no memory of what happened to him on the night of his date. There were numerous attempts to find the person with whom he had the date with. He does not say anything else, but the same paragraph over and over. It has been 15 years since Mr. Roland was discovered on the side of Route 66. His past remains a mystery, his present is a puzzle, and his future is uncertain.

Mr. Roland left home for a date with a nice girl, and ended up in a journey into destiny. Mr. Roland fell victim to “The Paradigm Shifts.” Enjoy your time with your loved ones because you never know when you could be a victim of “The Paradigm Shifts.”
