Tragic Beauty

Tragic Beauty was a statement I made to a friend to explain a relationship gone awry. It reminded of the depth that life and beauty have in how even broken things, shards of glass and rubble, find a way to be worth experiencing. Because out of it comes beauty.

As the TB narrator points out, an exploding star is wondrous to behold. Pure beauty. Yet endlessly more destructive than anything you can imagine. Devastatingly tragic. And you wouldn’t regret seeing, even if it was the last thing you ever saw.

But if I had the preference, I would just choose to see it, from way, way back. You don’t need to be part of the tragedy to get a good feel for what’s going on. If you want dysfunction, watch TV. Plenty of tragic beauty there.
