A: I cannot believed you know about GBS. I got a swine flu shot when I was in college and years later, I ended up with Guillian-Barre Syndrome. I was hospitalized for 7 months of my life. I was totally paralyzed for 4 of those 7 months. I could not even open or close my eyes, I had to be rotated every 2 hours for at least 5 1/2 months. I just happened to get it many years later, but I think it lies dormant in your body and something causes it to come to the surface. If I were people, I would never get that shot. I don’t think they can demand that you get it. My children and my family should never get a flu shot, and you know what, they don’t have to tell me that twice. It was the worst thing I have ever gone through in my life. I would never want to see anyone get that illness. It is awful to watch someone you love go through that. Don’t get that flu shot.
