How to Get Rid of Neck Pain

Neck pain can be very debilitating and can cause a number of health problems. When your neck hurts it can make your whole body feel bad. Is there ways to eliminate neck pain without a lot of cost?

There are ways to help neck pain and often times eliminate it. These ways do not cost anything and will often disappear by changing the way something is done on a daily basis. How does changing a habit or pattern of doing something help get rid of neck pain?

Changing a habit or the way you do something can be difficult especially if it has been done the same way for years. These are some very simple things that can be done to help get rid of neck pain. Here are 3 ways to prevent neck pain.

1. Handbags Can Cause Neck Pain – If you carry a handbag then you probably put it over the same shoulder. Doing this causes pressure on the neck and shoulder. The neck pain can be quite painful of you keep using the same shoulder for your handbag. To help take some pressure off your neck try putting your handbag on the other shoulder and alternating it back and forth throughout the day. Another thing to do is take the unimportant items out of your handbag. The lighter the handbag the less pressure and pain your neck will have. The handbag should weigh less then 3 pounds. Give these ideas a try and see how your neck pain subsides.

2. Phones Can Cause Neck Pain – Phones have been known to cause a lot of neck pain. The neck pain is from cradling the phone on the shoulder and bending the neck toward the shoulder. If you are going to use the phone don’t do anything else but talk. If you want to do something while talking then wait. Keeping your neck and shoulder bent at that angle to hold a phone puts a lot of pressure on your neck. The pain can radiate into the shoulder. This pain can become very intense if not taken care of. The best way to relieve the pain is to hold the phone in your hand to talk and not against your shoulder.

3. Computers Can Cause Neck Pain – If you are someone that works at a computer all day and on a daily basis, then you have probably experienced neck pain quite often. This neck pain is often associated with tension or holding the neck in a certain position for a long period of time. To relieve the neck pain try a couple of neck exercises while your at your desk. The first one to try is rotate your head in a circular motion. Go around several times. This will help loosen up the neck muscles. The other exercise is to bend your head toward you shoulder but only as far as it will go. Don’t put a lot of pressure on your neck. Do this 5 times on each side. You can also get up from your computer and walk around for 5 minutes or so. Do this several times a day. You should feel some relief by doing these things.

Another way to deal with neck pain is by using aspirin or taking a daily dose of fish oil. The fish oil if taken on a daily basis can help the inflammation which causes the soreness you experience. You should take at least 1,200 mg a day.

These are just some of the ways to help stop neck pain. They might not work for everyone. If you continue to have neck pain consult your doctor to rule out anything serious.
