Stylin’ and Profilin’ with the New Sony Bravia XBR-55HX929

Leo Anthony Gallagher once said “I wish there was a knob on the TV so you could turn up the intelligence. They got one marked “brightness” but it don’t work, does it?” This is far from true from the moment you turn on the Sony Bravia Television. This article will be reviewing both the over whelming good as well as some of the bad things that Sony’s new Bravia XBR-55HX929 has too offer.

These new light weight Sony Bravia televisions series XBR-55HX929 manufacture noticeably deeper black levels than any of my previous lcd and plasma televisions elsewhere on the market thus far. This fact single-handedly gives these televisions superior color quality compared to other televisions on the market. On top of offering an abundance of video processing options, this television can appropriately handle 1080p/24 sources. Sony Bravia series XBR-55HX929 has a good-looking, thin-profile exterior design. Another benefit to this Sony Bravia is that it is Internet suite includes numerous streaming services and widgets as well as built-in Wi-Fi. Another thing that stood out to me was the weight of the television compared to early plasma and LCD televisions. The Sony Bravia XBR-55HX929 was lighter and easier to pick up which made it excellent for having to move alone.

The bad to this new Sony Bravia XBR-55HX929 was the obvious sticker shock as I walked up to the television subdivision of the store. The extremely expensive television made me remember the quote by Kurt Vonnegut from Cat’s Cradle which said “In this world, you get what you pay for.” So I opted to buy the Sony Bravia in hopes that the price would be vilified. Also sitting off center of the Sony Bravia the picture deteriorates somewhat. Another downside to my purchase was the expensive 3d glasses did not come with my purchase.

The bottom line to me was that the high-quality series of this Sony Bravia XBR-55HX929 far outweighed the bad in my opinion. Sony stayed true to their sleek designs and came through with another great television. I also think even though the price was a bit high and that Sony perhaps may have been better off throwing in a couple pair of 3d glasses with the purchase of the television it still rates high on the list of top plasma televisions that are out today. Sony never lets me down with any other their products. I have highly recommend this television to any of my friends.
