Tips to Looking Great in Your Clothes

It’s not just the clothes that make you look good but how you wear them. T-shirts and jeans or a mini dress and heels; we want to look our best no matter the dress. Here are 5 simple tips to keep you looking great what ever you wear.

Looking great tip #1. Purchase a full length mirror. If the mirror over the bathroom sink does no can’t show your entire body, shoes included, then you need another one. You can’t tell how an outfit looks on you if you can’t see it. Prices for full length mirrors range from under $20 to over $1,000 depending on how elaborate the mirror and how much you want to spend. Some places to check out for economical and fashionable full length mirrors are Wal-Mart, Target, Kmart, TJ Maxx and similar stores. Full length mirrors can take up as little or as much space as you want; the most basic is made to hang from the bathroom or closet door.

Looking great tip #2. Use the full length mirror. To get the most use out of your full length mirror look at yourself from multiple angles. Turn to the side and see what you look like, without holding in your stomach. Bend over; does your dress hike up? Anything fall out? If you are going dancing try some of your signature moves while in the full length mirror just to make sure you are as cute on the dance floor as when standing still.

Looking great tip #3. Wear the proper undergarments. The entire look of an outfit changes with the undergarments. Please no more panty lines, VPL is never cute. You can check for panty lines by looking in the mirror, looking down or filling over your skirt or slacks to see if you can feel your panty elastic. While were talking about VPL please be aware of VBL, visible bra line, it’s not cute either. A well fitting bra can not only make you look better in clothes but also feel better mentally and physically. If your bra is pinching, smashing, poking or causing marks please run to the nearest bra store or department store and get properly fitted, in most cases the fitting is free and you are not obligated to purchase anything. My favorite place for bra fittings is Victoria’s Secret; the consultants discuss what fits and styles you like and once you have tried on samples and determined what works best they even give you a lovely wallet size tri fold card that list your styles and sizes.

Looking great tip #4. Try a girdle or body shaper; they are not your grandmothers’ girdle any longer. Even if you tried a girdle a few years ago the technology has changed. Girdles can concentrate on one part of your body like the waist or hips or do multiple duties from lifting the breast, pulling in the stomach and lifting the rear all at once. Body shapers also come in multiple strengths, from styles that hold you in as if on the red carpet to smoothing styles for all day comfort. Spanx even makes maternity styles to shape up thighs and rear but leave the belly free. Personally the only thoughts I gave to underwear while pregnant was for cleanliness and comfort it’s nice to know there are other options for those who are looking.

Looking great tip #5. Listen to yourself. If the outfit makes you feel uncomfortable or self conscious then it’s not the right outfit; you can’t look good if you don’t feel good. On that same token when you find a dress, skirt, blouse or whatever that makes you feel good, has complements rolling in buy it I multiple colors. Also note the style so you will recognize it when you see it at a different store or by another designer

It takes only a few steps to make sure you look as good as you feel. So wear that outfit, twirl that dress and look your best.
