New York City Mayor, Bloomberg, Bans Prayer

A Ground Zero commemorative service will be held for the families of victims of 9/11. The memorial service will allow the presence of politicians and presidents, but no prayers or pastors.

In the wake of the worst terrorist attack on American soil in our nation’s history, ten years ago, citizens turned to God for comfort and solace. Across the nation, members of the clergy were on the scene and gave aid, comfort, and hope to the fearful, shocked, fearful, and bereaved.

We would do well to turn our eyes again to the God of comfort and protection, as the tenth anniversary of that day approaches. However, unfortunately, the New York City Mayor, Michael Bloomberg, would have us turn away and look the other way. He is allowing the presence of politicians and presidents, but no pastors of prayers.
