Huge birth control pill slip up!!!?
Q: It’s nothing pregnancy related because I take the pill to control my PCOS and Endometriosis, not prevent pregnancy. Sorry for posting it here, I already posted it in the Women’s Health section but I didn’t get many good answers there, so I thought you guys might have some insight.Sorry this is kind of a long story but I REALLY need help!Anyway, here’s the story: Several months ago my gyno put me on a continuous birth control pill in order to control my endometriosis. Prior to being diagnosed with endometriosis, I had already been on the pill for about five years to control bleeding, but not on a pill continuously. Five days ago my doctor allowed me to take a break from the pill in order to have a period, because I had been having constant breakthrough bleeding since starting the continuous pills. However, I chose to stop the pills in the middle of the pack instead of complete the active pills before taking the placebos, just for the simple reason of getting my period prior to returning to school. So I would just take all the placebos, then just continue the rest of the active pills. Unfortunately, having been on the pill since I was 13, taking them has become such an everyday thing that I don’t even need to think about now, so today I accidentally took one of the leftover ACTIVE pills instead of a placebo. That was about two hours ago, but I didn’t realize I did it until just now (like I said, I sort of take my pills unconsciously cuz I’m so used to it).I panicked when I realized it, and I’m still sort of panicking, because this is a long-needed period (it’s incredibly heavy, which shows just how long it’s been since I haven’t had one) and because I had been taking the placebos for four days, and then suddenly I take an active pill full of hormones. I’m really scared as to what this could do to my body. Is it dangerous to have a slip up like this?p.s. I put masking tape over the remaining active pills so that I won’t do it again.
A: Hi,I wouldn’t be overly concerned. I have accidentally taken two pills in one day. I think that since you are already having a heavy flow it will probably continue. You should have no ill effects.Of course if you are overly concerned you should call your pharmacy and ask the pharmacist. (I’m assuming your doctor is off for the weekend) He/she could tell you if you should worry.
Birth Control Pills Advice?
Q: Hi, I am a 19 years old sexually active girl. I have never taken any birth control pills before, but now I’m considering it. I have read a lot of reviews on a bunch of different pills, so now I’m kind of anxious about it. I wanted to try Yaz, but I haven’t read any good feedback on it yet. Is it really that bad? Did anyone have a good experience with it? How is it on acne? Do birth control pills really make your boobs grow? And do they really make you an emotional wreck? (It seems like that’s common) What birth control pill would you recommend? Also, do I HAVE to go to the doctor in order to get on the pill or is that only recommended?
A: the pill is very good, my boobs dint get bigger 🙁 ! however, i myself have recently had to come off it as the hormones were killing off my sex drive!!!! so be warned!! pills actually controlled my emotions now im off them my emotions are flyin round everywhere!!yes you do have to go docs, as they will have to do regular health checks to make sure your doin okay on them
