Let the Live Shows FINALLY Begin on “The X Factor U.S”

After four weeks or 14 hours of television the audition rounds of The X Factor U.S. are finally over and the Live Shows can begin.

I tell you the truth 14 hours of television are a bit much for me knowing that the show hasn’t even really began yet. At times I had to force myself to stay awake and heck I wasn’t interested in grabbing a notebook and stay on track. Having to say that, the program did make a few impressions on me. So here they are.

The Judges aka Mentors

Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and L.A. Reid have a weird chemistry with each other. The competition between Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid seems fake or in other words made up. Nicole Scherzinger is in my opinion way to young to mentor the over thirties. What does she know about struggles they had in show business? It made me very uncomfortable when she played mama hugging contestants twice her age or in one case putting the hand of one of them on her leg trying to comfort them. I also preferred if she had put on a longer dress especially since she was kneeling on the bench in front her home. Paula Abdul got the bands and again why not just cut to the crab and tell us that the producers want who they want instead of making it appear that this was their decision. L.A. Reid seems to be the only one who took this mentoring session on his house quite serious in appeal and advice. However Rihanna’s presence at his house was pretty but pointless. Needless to say the same goes to Enrique Iglesias but of course his good looks always has me captivated. Simon Cowell looked like a pasha sitting bare feet alone on the park bench in Paris in front of his home. I would have felt really awkward if I was one of the contestants. However the much praised softer side of Simon Cowell came to the forefront finally for a TV Audience to see.

The Host

Steve Jones is definitely nice to look at but so far we haven’t seen much about him and time will only tell if he can capture the U.S. audience with more then his look. The TV spectacular seems to over power him and he appears to be very forgettable to the viewers. I even had to look up his name after watching him now for weeks.

The Contestants

I guess we have a great variety of contestants bringing a variety of styles from Hip Hop, and Jazz to country music. But the running mascara, soap stories, beautiful blonds and antiques outfit is wearing me out. As I said I didn’t even border to get most of the peeps name because I don’t care for them. There are only four acts that stand out in my opinion. That is Rachel Crow the refreshing Teen, Josh Krajcik the underdog, the kid brothers aka The Brewer Boys and former drug addict Chris Rene, also I question the X factor’ producers wisdom of having him on the show since he is only a couple months clean. Life changing events as the X Factor promises and the associated media scrutiny with it could take a toll on someone’s mentality. Stacy Francis mascara drama show in and show out irritates me as well as Dexter Haygood antiques. An honorable mention should go to Leroy Bell who looks like half of his age. If I look as good as him, with 60 something, then I would have it made. Hopefully he will spill his secret soon.

The Judges House Episode

I can’t remember seeing anything as self absorbed as fans were forced to see the judges houses in the last three shows. I do not care how Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, L.A. Reid nor Nicole Scherzingers backyard or pool looks like nor have I the desire to live there or compare my living conditions with them. It is so pointless.

Right now I am just glad that the producers obvious manipulation is over and we get to see the real acts even those which got little airtime. Hopefully it gets a little better and in all fairness I usually can’t wait for American Idol Hollywood round to be over with too. Let the Live Shows begin on “The X Factor U.S.
