My wife and I haven’t done any serious grocery shopping in a while and, as a result, I didn’t have a whole lot to choose from at breakfast this morning. Since I knew a bowl of Lucky Charms wasn’t going to hold me over until lunch, I decided to stop off somewhere and grab something.
My first thought was McDonalds for some breakfast burritos. But, I figured I should put a few dollars worth of gas in my car (to get me until payday) so I ended up stopping at a gas station instead and, as I was paying for my gas, I picked out a slice of breakfast pizza from the Kitchen Cravings brand.
I have had other Kitchen Cravings products before (mostly sandwiches) and always thought it was a decent brand. So, when I purchased the pizza slice this morning for $1, I was expecting good things. And, I was not disappointed.
There were a couple of things I really liked about this particular breakfast pizza. First, unlike most other gas station breakfast pizzas, this wasn’t overly greasy. In fact, it looked like it had as little grease as your typical store-bought brand. I did appreciate this because there’s nothing worse than trying to eat a slice of pizza at work while worrying about the grease getting everywhere.
The pizza also had quite a few toppings on it ranging from eggs to ham. This made the one slice surprisingly filling; something else I appreciated since I didn’t get a chance to eat for another four hours and would have hated to be hungry a few minutes later.
Another thing that impressed me about this pizza was the crust. It was a thinner crust but not paper thin like so many other brands. It was also somewhat crispy when I bit into it and had a decent flavor. I have had a lot of other breakfast pizzas that I couldn’t say that about and I have eaten just the toppings off of other pizzas simply because I did not like the crust.
Overall, I do feel this pizza was a good purchase. I only had a slice of it this morning but I would definitely consider buying a whole one in the future; even if it wasn’t on sale like it was today. If you are looking for something different for breakfast, this is a product I definitely recommend looking for.
