My wife has to work slightly later than normal all week, meaning she doesn’t have time to go to the gym before picking up our daughter from school. As a result of that, we both are working out in the evenings; I go after work and (because one of us needs to watch the kids) she goes when I get home.
We started this last night and, while I was at the gym, I realized we really didn’t have anything planned out for dinner. Since I knew my wife would want to eat something before going, I stopped off at Wal-mart and went looking for a frozen pizza. The one I got was a Philly Cheese Steak Pizza from the brand World Table.
I’ve seen these pizzas before but have never purchased one because, even though they were a reasonable price, they were also thin crust and I’m not a big thin crust fan. However, I was trying not to spend too much last night and this brand was one of the more affordable ones so I ended up buying it for the first time.
For the most part, I was impressed with this pizza.
I’m going to start out by saying I’m still not a thin crust fan and, as a result, wasn’t overly impressed with the crust on this pizza. I’ve had some pizzas surprise me but the thin crust on this one was a bit floppy in the middle while overly crisp on the outside.
Also, I should mention the instructions tell you to wait 5 minutes before eating this pizza. I recommend following them because, right out of the oven, this thing is extremely hot (even hotter than you would expect a pizza to be).
However, as far as taste goes, this was pretty decent. The pizza had a nice white sauce on it. This is something I don’t normally like on pizza but worked well with the Philly Cheese theme. Plus, while the pizza didn’t have a ton of toppings on it, there was still plenty of cheese and the meat was evenly spread out; something that made it seem like more.
I don’t know if this is a pizza I would buy on a regular basis. But, overall, I did like it and would consider purchasing it again; especially if I was trying to stay within a budget. If you haven’t had a chance to try this pizza, I recommend picking one up.
