Two years ago, my husband and I were planning on starting a family soon, and I owned a 2001 Pontiac Sunfire. I loved my little car very much, but it was time for a change. I am much shorter than your average adult, therefore it’s a little harder for me to see to drive in just the standard seat of a car. My husband and I also figured out that my vehicle had a 0 safety rating, and that didn’t make us feel very comfortable knowing that if we were to get into an accident that we wouldn’t be safe at all. So I set out on a search to purchase a new, well new to me, vehicle. We purchased a 2009 Pontiac G6, which has comfort and a 5 star safety rating. Well, now we have a beautiful baby girl, and my husband owns a 1999 Dodge Dakota, we know that it’s has a good safety rating, however, it’s only a two door truck, so it’s hard to get her in and out of it. So, this is how I went about purchasing my past vehicle, and this is also how we are going to go about purchasing my husband’s future vehicle.
When I told a friend of mine that I was in the market to buy a new car, she turned me on to using search engines to research vehicles. I got online and researched vehicle search engines. I selected a website that I thought looked good and began my search for a new car. Like I said before, I am now researching four door trucks for my husband. These online websites make it so easy to find just what you are looking for. I knew that I would have to go out of town to buy a new car, because there are limited dealers in my town, and they jack their prices up. Online you have many selections, from make, model, body style, color, mileage, fuel type, year, price, etc. You name it, and they have it as a selection. They even let you choose whether you want to purchase it from a dealer, or an individual. It also allows you to choose how far you would like to travel to purchase your vehicle. These websites allowed me to know what selections I had, and saved me thousands of dollars. If I hadn’t known about this website, I might have settled and purchased a car from a local dealer, and paid way too much for it.
When we purchase my husband’s truck this following year, we will use these websites for a reference. The main two things that we look for when we purchase a vehicle is safety and comfort. I will take into account consumer and expert reviews, specifications, and the current safety rating. We usually don’t really care about the gadgets, however, it is nice to have them, but they are not a necessity.
