Q: I’ve been with this guy for four years… and we started having sex about 3 weeks ago (i lost my virginity to him.. and i’m 18 years old). He never used protection.. but pulled out before he was about to do his thing. Is this effective at preventing pregnancy? Before we started having sex I always had abnormal periods… Like I’d go two months without having one… then have one each month on time for sometime.. then go another few months without having one. It says to take a test the day of your missed period or you can get the early result test and take it a few days before ur missed period… But I have no idea, since mine are so irregular… I’m not sure as to what I should do..

A: Well, I’d say until you have some kind of symptom of a pregnancy, you probably don’t have to worry about taking a test right now. If you ‘are’ having a symptom of pregnancy (eg. breast tenderness, nausea, etc) you could wait approximately 2 weeks after you had sex to take the test, period or no period. But, for future references, I have a 9 year old little boy on the “pull-out” method. So, no… not effective at preventing pregnancy. =)

Q: I’m nineteen years old. Basically, I’ve missed my period for 3 months now. But I’ve been irregular before but I went back to being regular a couple of months ago. I have a boyfriend. And around 3 months ago we kinda messed around. Me and my boyfriend didn’t really have sex. So I’m thinking there was no exchange of body fluids or whatever. I’m sorry if this is really vulgar but…. I’m positive he didn’t stick it in but he more of like, brushed against it. And he didn’t even cum. So I’m thinking, there’s no way I can be pregnant. I’m just really worried. I’ve never had sex before and I’m not really sure what to do here. I’ve taken the First Response Pregnancy Test and it came out negative. But I’ve been gaining weight, nauseous, craving foods, and have some abdominal pains. I don’t know if this is just all in my head. I’ve researching online and some sources have said that there’s a kind of pregnancy that can’t be detected through a mere urine test. I’m planning on going to Planned Parenthood tomorrow and settle this. But I’m not sure which one to take. Pap Test? Pregnancy Test? Q: I’ve been trying to get pregnant for the past 4 months. Well so far I’ve had my period everytime but it has been a little different (Lighter, earlier). The last time I had my period was October 17 and had sex everyday around ovulation.. (Oct.27-November 3) I still have 4 more days til my period is suppose to come. But the last week or so I have been feeling very different then I normally do, (even before I have my period), My nipples and around areas hurt a lot, I’m pretty sleepy, sometimes I get these light cramps on one side, a little moody, running to the bathroom more & I have headaches all the time. I’m not sure if I should take a test now or wait a few more days. Please help me and give me your advice and tell me if you think I could be pregnant. Thanks a lot for reading this! This morning (Nov.13) I took a pregnancy test and it was Negative. It was just a normal test, a cheap one (99 cents) from the dollar store. But I still have 4 days before my period is suppose to arrive.

A: I am in the EXACT same boat as you! I am due for my period the same time as you and had my last one the same time. I am also having sore breasts, sleepy, nausea, and a little cramping. I too, tested negative so I have decided to hold off for two weeks to take another. Hard, I know, but I am being safe and taking my vitamins…so good luck to you! And me =)
