how to get someone to overcome their fear of roller coasters?
Q: I’m going to Hershey Park with my school band in May or June and I have a friend who is extremely afraid of roller coasters and I’m trying to think of a way to convince her that there is nothing to be scared of. Any tips on helping people overcome their fear of roller coasters?she says she’s scared that the coaster will stop in the middle of a loop.
A: Tell her that they are safe and fun. They wont build something that will hurt people and then they get sued for it. You are more likely to get in a car wreck and yet you ride in a car everyday.
How can I overcome my fear of roller coasters?
Q: I guess I’m afraid of falling from heights or something, except it’s strange… I’m gonna be going to a water park (with roller coasters, obviously) with friends soon, and I’m scared of roller coasters. I’d be fine if it was just a drop on a water slide, but for some reason I’m terrified of drops on roller coasters. My friends are roller coaster fanatics and I don’t want to spoil their fun or ride alone. That’s why I don’t want to ride only the smallest kiddy-type ones and increase in size gradually. I also don’t think I can handle riding a big one right away. Last time I tried that, I completely freaked out right before I got on and chickened out in the end. What do I do?I’M EMBARASSED TO RIDE THE SMALLER ONES IN FRONT OF MY FRIENDS. BESIDES, WE’RE ONLY THERE FOR A DAY. SO WHAT DO I DO?Am I allowed to choose “NO BEST ANSWER”, or what?
A: Well, I want to say, “Deal with it. You’ll survive and be glad you overcame your fears.” But If you are only going to be there for a day try smaller roller coasters if you have an amusement park near you. Otherwise I’d say just ride the coaster, and if it doesn’t make you sick, it helps to keep your eyes closed and when a ride scares me, which is unusual, I pray because it relaxes me, if there is something you do that relaxes you and you can do it on a roller coaster (like singing… probably in your head) try and do that. Screaming, laughing…. laughing is actually a good one. Pretend you aren’t scared. Fear is mental so just fill your mind with other thoughts.
how do i overcome the fear of roller coasters?!?
Q: I also have the fear or heights. But i somewhat overcame that. But how do i overcome the fear of roller coasters?!You know that feeling when your going down a steep hill? (you feel tingly inside) i HAATEE that feeling.
A: I find that you tend to have more fun when you turn off your brain in certain situations, and riding rides at major amusement parks is one of those situations. You should stop fussing over the whole thing, be an adult, and just ride the ride. It’s not going to kill you. The park would lose a lot of business if someone did.
