Why did I see a face in my dream last night?

Q: When I dream I never see people’s faces. Usually their heads are just giant grey blurs but I always know who they are through what we’re talking about, their clothes, ect. Last night one of my friends was in my dream but his face was so vivid and detailed that I woke up thinking that what had happened in my dream happened in real life. Does anyone know why this is?
