My Three Fashion Resolutions for New Years

The New Year is around the corner, and many people are making a list of things they want to change, do, and continue for 2012. One of my resolutions will be fashion. I’m no fashion expert, but I do have a passion for high fashion and cost-efficient clothes. Since fashion styles fade quicker than Kim Kardashian’s marriage I’m going to have to decide what fashion statement I want to make for 2012.

I’m glad that the New Year starts in winter because I’m a winter fashionist (not a real word until now). I don’t have a Taylor Lautner body–yet–so I’m comfortable putting on the layers of clothing. Right now, I have three outerwear clothing. One is a black hoodie from Express that is for everyday outings such as going to a friend house and making a quick run to the store. Another one is an American Eagle outfitter coat that is the warmest coat I ever worn and the fur inside the hood keeps my head warm even in the coldest weather (which is about twenty degrees in Tennessee). My last coat is from Express too. It’s the most fashionable coat out of my three because it’s made like a military coat, but the material is too thin for below fifty degrees. So I’m thinking about buying a peacoat, something that is high fashion and warm in severe cold temperatures.

Driving gloves is something a really want for the winter. I’ve seen them worn in many of my favorite action movies such as James Bond and Transporter series, and I think they look awesome. Driving gloves may not be the ideal type of gloves for winter, but I don’t plan on playing in the snow, or singing Christmas carols in front of people’s homes so big gloves won’t be a necessity. Also, big gloves are not fashionable and they won’t look good with my clothing style. I like to wear everything fit and having some random big gloves on my hands will throw off my style.

Boots are something I’ve been considering to wear this New Year. All my shoes are loafers, and one pair of running shoes so I don’t have any proper footwear to keep my feet warm in severe cold weather. I’m not as fashionable for boots as I am for shoes so I don’t have to spend much money for a pair of name brand boots. If I do invest in boots I’ll most likely try Target or Jcpenny’s. I at least want my boots to look good with my jeans so I will consider the form of the boots to ensure I don’t look like I’m wearing clown shoes.
