I do agree the corporate giants are getting salaries that are outrageous. I believe everyone has the right to open a small business and be prosperous. Most of us can’t make enormous salaries and wear expensive suits. We have to count our change to buy groceries. I am not one of these rich people or even middle class . I am one of the over 60 crowd living on a small fixed income. I would like to make a million or so and I have read numerous books on how to do it.
Most of the books didn’t tell me much. Some of them were about the pyramid plan of getting 4 or 5 people to do the same thing you do and it brings more money eventually. I did that with Avon, Stanley, and Tupperware. Mary Kay wasn’t any different. I invested $1,000 into the business. I was determined to get my pink car, but I didn’t get it. None of these money making ideas worked for me even though I worked myself ragged.
I have read dozens of secret, believing, miracles, and purpose driven books and none of them helped me get the wealth either. I do like Purpose Driven Life and some the principles in the book. I do not believe someone who lives on less than $700.00 a month is supposed to pay tithes and everything will be honky dory. The belief that your money keeps coming back after you pay your tithes doesn’t work. My income doesn’t allow much in food choices. Just getting by is a struggle . A lot of people are homeless because rent is almost as much as their total income for the month.
I do not know why the public has not protested about the salaries of CEO’S UNTIL NOW. No CEO is worth one million dollars and surely not 10 million dollars or more. The banks are another institution that is basically dishonest. The tellers start out with low wages. Some of the other employees are making making hundreds of thousands a year, or a million or more.. I am thinking of closing my account. I can’t afford the overdraft charge that is fifty cents less than $30.00. They might close it for me when they read this article. Sometimes I admit I have to pay my utility bill and I am short so the bank pays it and I am charged the fee. The fee is charged if it is only a dollar overdraft.
Some of the charities also pay huge salaries to CEO’S. Check it out yourself! I think one of really big problems in America is the propaganda spread about jobs. Give the Americans living wages, not just jobs. Pay them decent wages. Home health workers and janitors are paid very low wages. Give Americans health insurance. They can’t live on these wages, and with gas prices and food the way they are there needs to be people marching for other causes.
