ABCs “Dancing With The Stars” took on another level of momentum last evening, when mom Cher, showed up at the competition to support son Chaz Bono.
Despite having the lowest score Chaz Bono and partner Lacey were bounced back into the competition by a bevy of faithful fan votes to advance to week four. And mercy showed a real comeback when the two hit the stage, giving the Judges the chance to redeem themselves.
According to “People”, Chaz said “Dancing in front of 20 million on live TV is nerve wracking. But dancing infront of my mother, not so scary”.
With movie themes taking center stage, it was entertainment galore with a mix of dance styles from tango and foxtrots to Paso dobles.
Tonight, the show displayed a masterpiece in entertainment as the stage got hotter and hotter prior to elimination.
Julianne Houg performed two great dance numbers for the audience, who ranted and raved her skills well after she had departed the stage.
The highlight of the night was indeed the homage made on the 50th anniversary of the #1 rock and roll record of all time, “The Twist”. The song, funny enough began with a twist within “The TWIST”. An original as introduced by Estel. The show stopper was indeed when Estel welcomed none other than Chubby Checker himself onto the stage. It was a moment of nostalgia for all who watched as Chubby Checker took the mike and flowed right back to his original take on “The Twist”. He even did a bit of a dance performance with Hannah that wowed the audience even more. Thank you sir, that was quite the performance we have all waited for a long time!
Sadly the night came to an end when the couple going home was announced : Chynna Phillips and Teny.
Was that the right elimination? Who knows, each week one couple has to be eliminated, that’s the way it goes….!
