No, it really isn’t a surprise that Jack Wagner is a star contestant on “Dancing With The Stars.” His name has been circulating the rumor mill that he was part of the cast for a few weeks. Yes, casting him onto the show may be a smart move on ABC’s part. He may be able to bring in some soap viewers. After all, he was a regular on “General Hospital,” “Bold and The Beautiful” and “Melrose Place.” In fact, in his introduction, ABC had the hosts of the live “Good Morning America” event introduce him as an actor from “General Hospital” and “Melrose Place.” The funny part, was that it has been a long time since he has been on “General Hospital.” He just recently left “Bold and The Beautiful.” Of course, rumors are circulating that he may be rejoining the cast of this ABC soap, again. This would be an ideal time for ABC to put an ABC past soap star onto “DWTS.”
For the past few seasons, “DWTS’ has slowly been losing ratings. Fans of the show, have not been too impressed with the cast choices. Plus, daytime fans aren’t impressed with ABC, period. They are boycotting ABC due to the fact that they cancelled “All My Children” and “One Life To Live.” These are millions of viewers and many of these were fans of “DWTS.”
However, all fans and non fans of the show, may have been surprised to hear that legendary music star Gladys Knight on the list of star dancers. Normally, we see her in the role of singer. She is known for singing such hit songs as “I heard it through the Grapevine,” and “Midnight Train to Georgia.” She stated she always loved to dance socially. Now we can see if she has more moves than her beloved “Pipps.”
