Please, I’m worried because I had to do an urine and blood test and the clinic called me saying a “minor infection” was found on my urine test that maybe I’m overcoming a flu and I was suppose to drink lots of fluid and re-do the test (they didn’t get the blood result yet).I saw online that many disease can show up on urine tests so now I’m very worried!Would they really ask me to repeat if it was just a MINOR infection?I know it’s normal for women to have urine infection and I was never before asked to repeat an urine test! Do I have reason to be worried? Thanks a lot!

When I was little that happened and it was nothing. At first they thought that I had a liver (I think) infection but it was nothing.
Not at all. If they suspected something serious they would have had you come in, or they would have had you do additional tests right away. If they said “signs of a minor infection”, they probably saw some red or white blood cells, or bacteria. It’s not at all uncommon to find any of these things in a normal female urine specimen. What indicates the infection is the AMOUNTS of these things. If the specimen was not “clean catch, midstream”; that is, you didn’t wipe with the antiseptic wipes first, and catch the middle of the stream in the cup– there may be greater amounts of these cells and bacteria in the specimen (contamination from your vagina or anus). Also, if your urine is quite concentrated, the relative amounts of these things is greater. Certainly, if you’re worried about it, don’t be afraid to call the clinic and ask them what they found and ask them to explain it. Be sure to do the follow-up specimen, as they suggested. In the meantime, watch for signs of infection, such as needing to urinate frequently, painful urination, low back pain, abdominal pain, fever, or blood in your urine. See your doctor sooner if you develop these symptoms. Assuming you’re feeling fine, I would not worry about it at all. Sounds like they’re just being careful.
dont worry at all just do what they said and relax
No, please don’t worry. I have to take these tests often, being diabetic. 9 times out of 10 I get a call from the surgery asking me to repeat the tests. It’s always a urinary tract infection which soon clears up with a course of anti-biotics.
I work as a lab technician..and i dont hink you have anything to worry about.we have urine samples recollected all the time..if the urine is not handled properly from the beginning we may ask for a repeat..it could be something simpple like that..there arent very many things that are looked for in a basic urine test..we dont test a sample for every disease out there..usually a basic urine test is to check for urinary tract infections..which males can get as well.the beginning of kidney or bladder stone formation may also be detected..no worried..just have it recollected..
Don’t worry about, happens all the time. If you were getting over the flu, and had been taking some over the counter meds, it could throw off the results of their tests. They want to get a second one, just to confirm the results of the first.
