It would be a smalll miracle to find a doctor to do that on someone that has no children and is so young- and not married- D Yes, it’s minor surgery and she will be in the hospital for a few hours and have to be put to sleep. A doctor may not wish to perform it because of her young age though.

Getting your tubes tied can be done without a huge scar or anything like that, however at 23 most doctors will not agree to do the surgery. I begged for one about 3 years ago because I was having problems and the doctors said no. I’m glad they did because I do want to have a kid some day. I’d wait if I was either of you. I’m 23 also, we’re still young and have a long time to change our minds. It’s such a life altering thing. But if you want, go for the vasectomy, it can be reversed (but not in all cases) in the future if you change your mind.
My husband got a vasectomy when he was 24. It was the best decision we ever made. The doctors are just uptight about women who know they don’t want children, but they don’t have the same problem when it comes to men. A vasectomy is much easier to preform and cheaper too.
