Q: I asked this on another board and thought I should try it here instead….I am currently 7 weeks pregnant, and don’t have my first ultrasound until next Friday at 8 weeks. I am wondering how my syptoms and such line up with those who were pregnant with twins? Here they are:I have more nausea than I did in my first pregnancy, and my abdomen is huge already (and was at 4 weeks). My HCG numbers were 1504 at 4 weeks. Twins run in my family. A: Well my first symptom was way more nausea then normal. I thought I was further along because I was so sick. I was only 6 weeks at my first ultrasound but I thought I was like 12 or 14 weeks. I was completely shocked, twins don’t run in my family or anything so I didn’t even think about it. It is hard to say whether me showing a bit earlier was a sign or not because they always say you show faster with your second child. But definitely more morning sickness is a factor. My doc told me double the hormones equals double the nausea. Good Luck and Congrats!

A: The only accurate way to tell if you are having twins is by ultrasound. I found out at 6 weeks when we saw two heartbeats and two tiny embryos. Later I experienced extreme fatigue, morning sickness, migraines, and a much larger-than-average fundal height. But everyone is different so ultrasounds are most accurate.
