Renault Trots Out Koleos Bose Edition

The crossover segment has become perhaps one of the most competitive market, and almost every major carmaker is offering at least one model and each one is trying to make their models as appealing as possible. French carmaker Renault is offering the Koleos and they have recently announced a limited edition of the model, called the Renault Koleos Bose Edition, which is based on the version powered by the 2.0 dCi engine delivering 150 hp.

As you can imagine from this model’s name, the main highlight is a state of the art sound system provided by Bose Corporation, the American company specialized in audio equipment. The Bose audio system on the Koleos features CD and MP3 player plus seven loudspeakers and a subwoofer. Through the Plug & Music digital connectivity interface, the system also offers USD and jack connectivity, making it compatible with all popular storage devices used today (MP3 players or mobile phones).

The Koleos isn’t the only Renault to get a Bose limited edition, the French carmaker having a partnership with the American company and developing limited editions of the Megane and the Laguna too. Also, it’s not the first time the Koleos gets the Bose treatment, a previous special edition being available for the Phase 1 Koleos and being “responsible” for around 30 percent of total Koleos sales in Europe in 2011, which is quite amazing.

Of course, the sound system isn’t the only feature making this model unique, the Renault Koleos Bose Edition also featuring several extra styling elements such as extra-tinted rear glass, Black Lacquer trim details on the interior, black fabric upholstery, aluminum mirror casings, “Bose” badges on the exterior and a set of special colored 17-inch alloy wheels. Also, for the exterior, interested customers will get five color choices: Perle White, Glacier White, Mineral Beige, Mars Grey and Metallic Black.

In addition to these standard features, customers will also be able to order several optional features such as more impressive “Australe” aluminum alloy wheels available in 18-inch size and priced at 500 Euros and European maps for the TomTom satellite navigation, which costs 120 Euros.

According to the official Renault press release, the new Renault Koleos Bose Edition will be available for order starting with January 2012 and the first deliveries are scheduled to take place two months later, in March. Pricing in France has been announced to start at 29,400 Euros (around $38,400), but the new Bose limited edition will be available across entire Europe, not only in Renault’s home market.
