Thud,
thud,
thud,
I hear my feet like lead onto the hard dirt,
Smack
smack
smack,
my feet hit the pavement.
I feel my muscles tighten
and loosen
I sweat from every pore to release the heat,
all of me,
like a machine
trained only
to run,
run,
runaway,
away
from pain
and into the sky.
My feet may be lead,
but my soul sores like an eagle
up in the clouds,
free
From burden,
only
laden with myself.
My soul returns to me
As I
slow to a
stop
and once again
I go thud
thud
thud
as i return,
thud
thud
thud
stop.
