The Life of Zoey

Ever since I was a puppy, I have done some things that even I cannot believe that I have gotten away with. I am Zoey, a 3 year old brussels griffon/cocker spaniel mix. Ever heard of that one before?

Anyhow, I am going to take you on a little journey into the past 3 years of my life. My favorite thing in the whole wide world is my daddy. He takes good care of me and gives me Burger King. It wasn’t always like this.

My parents had just lost their faithful dog when I came into the picture. My big brother Chester, a 4 lb. Chihuahua, was extremely lonely with the passing of his brother and mommy and daddy wanted to give him a new sibling. Little did they know what they were in for!

Mommy and Daddy named me Zoey long before I was even born. See, Daddy’s friend just had a liter of puppies right after the passing of their long time companion, and daddy wanted to give mommy a present. Mommy tells me that she was so excited, and still has pictures of the day I was born. Well, 5 weeks later, I got to come home.

I immediately loved my big brother, he let me lay on him and cuddle with him. Mommy let me sleep (pee) on the bed, and daddy ran around with the camera taking pictures of my cuteness. That was, until the first day they left me alone to roam the house. I don’t think anyone expected me to be that little, and that destructive. I remember how yummy that couch tasted. I made puddles everywhere!

Daddy learned quickly that I was “special” and suggested to mommy that we go to obedience school. After 8 dreadful weeks in school, I finally graduated, much to my parents surprise. I think the teacher passed me because I made so much racket in the store, that they didn’t want me to come back. What did I learn you may ask? I learned to sit and shake, as long as someone has a treat in their hand. My silly parents thought that school would calm me down. My momma began calling me beans because that is what I have for brains, she says. I know that isn’t true. I am smart.

So, my family finally wised up. I finally got my own room in the house, equipped with my toys, beds, and lots of blankets. Every morning mommy lures Chester and I into the room with a handful of cookies. When daddy comes home, out I come hauling.

I am terrified of the dog park, but love the car ride there, as long as I am sitting on someones lap the whole time. I squeal and cry when any dog comes near me, but the people, that’s another story. When someone comes to my house for a visit, they need to run outside so I can initiate them by peeing on their shoes. Everyone knows my routine, and never, never take anything away from me while I am on the bed, or I will dribble.

Life is great as a Zoey.
