What are you supposed to clean lip piercings with?
Q: I just got snakebites today and I know that I have to clean the inside of my mouth with mouth wash (and the whole procedure for that), but what do I need to clean the outside with? Or do I even need to clean the outside?
A: Make sure the mouthwash you’re using is alcohol-free. If it has alcohol in it it will kill the new skin cells trying to grow, hindering healing.I just rinsed my mouth out with sea salt water when I got my lip piercing. Rinsed after everything I ate, after kissing, and after smoking.I cleaned the outside with a sea salt mixture, too. And then rinsed off with fresh water.
How often are you supposed to clean cartilage piercings?
Q: I just got mine done yesterday and I want to make sure it says super clean and doesn’t get infected or have those cyst things. I use rubbing alcohol (dont try and tell me not to use that because it has always worked for me just fine and nothing and i mean nothing else cleans it for me) but I’m just not sure how often I should be cleaning it. Is it possible to over-clean a cartilage piercing? Thanks!!!
A: Sorry to the person above but…Do NOT clean it three times a day!!! (lol they deleted it now…)It become dried out and will be more prone to infections and will not heal for a long time!I have many many piercings and i have only ever cleaned them with a cotton bud dipped in warm water and they have all been perfectly fine! You do not really need to make up or buy any special solutions but if you feel safer that way go for it, but do not clean it three times a day, Try once a day and then after a month cut it down to every other day or every three daysHope this helps xxx
Are new ear piercings supposed to bleed after 2 days?
Q: I got my 3rd holes pierced monday morning and i was just cleaning them and the one is bleeding. is that normal?!
A: No, it is not infected because there would be pus. If it is just some blood when you clean it, it is that may be you are too rough with it! Remember, it is new and all fresh, so it is fragile, even if it does not hurt.. Do not remove the jewelery because it will close immediately, just like after a shot; It would be very difficult to put it back in and would make it bleed even more, without counting possible infection. This is like a small open wound,. Use the cleaning product they gave you where you had it pierced. Push gently forward to clean the front half of the stud and backward so you can clean the other half that is inside your ear. Only in a few week you will be able to remove it safely, but do not forget to replace the jewelery rapidly, because this can close very fast.Good luck to you and I think you should be OK.
