Can someone provide instructions on how to tie the obi on a traditional Japanese men’s summer yukata?
Q: I have a Yukata I plan to wear at local festivals here in Japan, but I don’t know how to properly tie the wide style obi. In the past I have gone to the shop where I bought my yukata and one of the older ladies there would do it for me. It is getting to be a bit impractical to keep doing that so I need to learn how do do it myself. I have been told there are different ways to tie the obi depending on age or status. So far, the only instructions I have found on the internet are for the yukata’s used in the Japanese style Ryokans (using the thin robe-like obi)
A: I hope one of the links below have what you’re looking for.
