A: Usually 24 hours at the most. You can always take folic acid, even if not pregnant. You can pick it up at GNC or health/vitamin store if you want to be safe. That is, unless your doctor has told you not to for certain reasons. I started taking prenatal vitamins before I even tried to conceive.

A: I understand where you are coming from. I think if you are close enough to them all you need to do is sit down and have a conversation with them. Let them know that you are happy for them, but are having a hard time being around them while you are still grieving. And maybe once you see the little one that you will be an aunt to, the feelings of love will outweigh the grief. And you are definitely not being selfish – it’s very normal to feel that way!
