Pregnancy and calomine lotion?
Q: is it safe to use calomine lotion for exczema during pregnancy?I was prescribed steroid cream bc i have severe exczema ( i went frm hvn mild exc to severe excz) but since recently i have become pregnant, my maternity coordinator said that steroids isnt a good idea now. I currently stay hours away from the doctor who prescribed da steroids a year ago, so what is safe to use bc if u have severe exczema, den you know exactly how i feel..and it itches really bad.PS..please do not list any creams such as hydrocortizone, sarnia, aveeno, etc that can be found in da store bc da DR who prescribed my steroids already told me that i have basically used all thats left to be used for ppl w/exczema so my last option WAS STEROIDS….also i have used calomine lotion before i was pregnant it really didnt do any good b steroids is stronger bt u jus need sumthn THAT U KNO frm experience that can help sooth this itchn for da time being pregnant!. thanks

Boyfriend on medical steroids? Moody?
Q: For about the past three weeks, my boyfriend of four months has been very moody and irritable. We’ve been fighting pratically everyday. The slightest things have made him snap off and flip. Finally, I asked him what his problem has been and he told me that every so often he get an asthmatic cough and his doctor gives him an inhaler to inhale steroids to help him get rid of his cough. & he said thats whats been making him so irritable and angry. Should I believe him? This has been going on for over three weeks. Do doctors normally prescribe steroids for asthmatic coughs for this long of a time period?Or is this his true personality coming out? Or am I doing something wrong, and our relationship is just going to shit? I dont know how much longer I can handle this.
A: Yes, steroids can have side effects. The term “roid rage” usually applies to body builders and other athletes how use them as a performance enhancer, but steroids can also be a prescription drug (i have asthma also and have been prescribed them in the past), irritability can be one side effect. He is telling the truth best thing to do would just give him some space until hes finished the cycle, he shouldn’t be on them for more than a couple of weeks
Help gaining weight or at least slowing down my metabolism?
Q: I’m really starting to get tired of constantly trying to gain weight, the more I try, the more weight I actually lose. Currently I’m six feet tall and I weigh somewhere between 120 and 130. I eat roughly 4000 calories a day and have an extremely protein rich diet. I have alot of bad habits that I will detail later but I do not eat fast food save for the occasional sub. I have been under weight all my life, bouncing from diet to doctor to prescribed steroids and growth hormones in my younger years. My low weight also led to a lengthy problem with collapsed lungs that surgery has finally fixed. That three year ordeal of constant hospital stays started a down turn for me. If I could eat healthy and exercise and get screwed like that then whats the point? The Bad:2 – 4 pots (yes, thats pots) of coffee a dayI smoke… spare the lecture, I started knowing full well what i was doing and I will make a point to stop.I drink roughly the equivalent of 36 – 48 beers a week, usually all condensed into a perpetual friday – sunday night party.the good…Like I said, I still eat pretty healthy (short of the coffee and alcohol). My weight loss and metabolism have continued. I was 140lbs in February and I’ve almost dropped 20. Doctors continue to tell me that nothing is wrong and that I’m in perfect health though under weight.Any help would be much appreciated, but please keep in mind I can’t just spend loads of money on red meat and fish every day.
A: Sorry if I sound too blunt but hey…that’s the way I am. Why are you so worried about your weight if you aren’t even worried about your health? I love life and people and I, too, am very underweight. 30 yrs old, 2 kids and still 105 lbs soaking wet at 5’7″ tall. Honey it’s like this, you could be overweight and struggling with high blood pressure, diabetes or cholesterol. Look at it this way, excercise a little, keep eating healthy and still enjoy the beers and coffee (which I would cut back a ‘little bit’ :-} ) This is the way you are supposed to be so accept it. You could always do like me and love the fact that you have an awesome but that doesn’t sag and no belly hanging over your belt.
