9 Simple Ways to Spend Time with God Each Day: There’s Power in the Hour

Are you designating an hour or so each day of your life to spend time with God? If not, you may want to consider doing so. Spending time with God provides you with the strength, peace, power, wisdom, guidance, protection, deliverance, favor and more things you need in order to live the life God wants you to live. Jesus is a well of running water, and it’s available to whoever takes their bucket to the well (See John 7:38).

“I Don’t Have an Hour”: God Made Time and Does with it What He Pleases

You may be saying to yourself, “I’m too busy to spend time each day with God”. Others may say, “I don’t have an hour to spare in a day”. The truth is, everyone has time for God; it’s just a matter of how we spend our time. Besides, God is the creator of time, so rest assured that He has given you a way to make time in your life for Him. It’s just an issue of personal choice.

Ways to Spend Time with God

Here are 9 simple ways to spend time with God each day. Doing some of these activities will help you become the vessel God intends for you to be and live the life He wants you to live:

Read the Bible-Make a regular habit of reading the Bible. God will reveal Himself to you through His Word. Pray often-Prayer is intimate communication with God, which also demonstrates your humility and dependency upon Him for your every need. Praise God-Praise demonstrates gratitude for all that God does for you.Thanksgiving is a form of praise. Praise gets God’s attention and gives you extra favor with Him. Meditate on God-Meditation is simply resting your mind, body, and soul in the peace of God. For example, take several 15-minute quiet breaks throughout the day, where you just relax and think about God. That’s a good form of meditation. Fast-Fasting helps clear your mind and allows you to focus solely on God (See Matthew 17:21). Have Conversations with God-Do you hear and recognize God’s voice? If so, you have the privilege of having conversations with God just as you would a friend (Ex. Moses and the burning bush). You may talk to God and receive His guidance and direction in any aspect of your life (if you hear Him). Obey God-Do what God wants (His will), and obey His commandments. Also, do what He instructs you to do as He guides you in life. Obedience is better than sacrifice (See 1Samuel 15:22). Do God’s work-If you are accomplishing God’s will, you must also be doing His work. Spreading God’s Word, doing charitable work, or giving back to the less fortunate are great ways to spend time with God. Receive God’s Word-You may receive God’s Word in many ways, including going to church, listening to sermons, talking about God with others, listening to a Gospel station on the radio, reading a blog, watching a religious program on television, fellowship, and more.

Conclusion
The above are just some examples of what you can do to spend time with God. Rest assured that one hour spent with God in a day (reading, prayer, meditation, or others) will save you years of futile work and unhappiness in life. Spend time with God each day and allow Him to take you through the shortcut to your life success.
