As green supple leaves begin to turn brown
To wither and rest on firmer ground
Summer gives way to a welcoming fall
As we stand (with awe) knowingly tall
This season marks a beginning (for all)
Whether anyone of years regarded this call
For the message of endless light sending
Is changing with summer’s ending
Like maturity emerging from youth
These seasoned leaves summer is sending
To fall…. knowing what needs to stay
Or forgo, as summer was merely lending,
Leaves much to reflection
For life evolves in moments tending
To find new joy in brisk air and auburn sun
For what shall follow is always pending.
