Learning to Love on Waters Deep

We met and right away I think I knew
That we would come to be a splendid pair.
I stole a glance and saw your eyes so blue
And saw that they were bright but unaware.

You said that you had broken hearts before
And did not want to make the same mistakes.
Aboard the craft of love I hug the shore,
I’d never gone beyond the shallow lakes.

Somehow we found the courage to unite
Upon a journey toward the waters deep.
We learned to trust when shore was not in sight
By pledging careful words that we would keep.

I had a feeling but to my surprise,
My faith in us withstands the stormy skies.
